Many bands have horrible motel experiences. This particular motel tops all of those...
To keep the company safe, we will use a different name.
Montel 5+1 Inc.
This motel was by far...the worst experience DDAT has ever had.
Believe it or not, it started off with a greet while exiting our band vehicle.
"Hello, need anything? Anything you want, I got all the goods man..."
Being nice, Nick asked for a water...
The young fellow said, "like a water bong?"
ddat - "ugggh...(confused faces)"
The young man left and we all figured out immediately that he wasn't associated with the motel. But he was very well mannered and we were happy to be greeted by such a hyper individual.
We began moving towards the office when we came across 3 women. Women that were in short dresses and coats...They almost looked like bag attendants but what they asked was insane!
"Three of us for 300.00...what do you say?"
Mike - "300 what?"
DDAT - "hahahahaha"
They were not bag attendants...We continued to the office and found it locked. We banged on the door hoping someone would answer but no...
Soon a man said the key is under the ashes tray. We thought it was bogus. Sure enough there was a key and we opened the front office.
We laughed about the motto and changed it to, "Come visit us, we will leave the key under the ash tray"
The experience was getting unbelievable. Until we met the front desk person. The man had two phone headsets. He was talking on both and trying to talk with us. It sounded like this...
"Hello guys welcome to Montel 5+1 Inc. Did you have a reservation? Yes it comes with a 3 day stay in Las Vegas Nevada we just need your credit card information. What's your name guys? What are you in town for?"
We were very puzzled...But oh well, we were tired of the drive we had endured all night.
We got to our room. It was on the 2nd floor. We didn't need a key because the door was wide open. The room had a few guys staying in it and we were shocked! One guy asked if we had toilet paper, another asked if we wanted to hang out with them...we turned around immediately and went back to the vehicle...
After much talk about our motel...we went back down to the office.
The guy gave us another key and apologized for the mistake. We got to our room and it was horrible. Horrible as in they didn't clean the room since the last person left. But when sleep is on your mind, you deal with the situation yourself. We ran the trash outside the room and Nick ran to get some Clorox disinfectant spray. We emptied the entire bottle.
After cleaning...we brought our own sheets and blow up mattress in the room. It was the worst. As we looked out the window we all wished we were at the days inn next door. We then decided to call, but the phones weren't working, then we saw all the outlets were ripped out of the wall. To make it worst, we were in a no signal area.
We couldn't bare the service. So we went to the office to ask for a manager.
nick - "Can we speak to a manager please?"
office man - "we don't have one, what's the problem?"
chris - "We are not going to stay here, it's dirty and filthy"
office man - "let me see if my bro is working at days inn, he might be able to hook you guys up"
nick - "ugggh, nevermind...we are going to leave"
Our experience ended. We began to take our bags out and we were approached by the office man...He asked since we weren't staying in the room if it was ok if his friends could have it...hahaha
We said have at it...
It was now 10am so we found a different part of town and checked into something more pleasant...
The motel we speak of is now closed...In fact there was a shooting there the very next day. We watched on the news and were glad to be away.
Montel 5+1 Inc. We are sorry to inform you, but we will never...be staying at your motel.
